Egon Friedell, 60-year-old Jewish writer and historian, who was converted to Christianity, has committed suicide in Vienna, newspapers reported here today. He was the author of “the history of world culture.”

The daughter of Bruno Walter, exiled German Jewish conductor, who recently can celled his Austrian contracts, has been arrested in Vienna. Marie Deutsch, wife of Julius Deutsch, who led the socialists in the barricade fighting of 1934, was also seized.

Der Stuermer, anti-Semitic weekly published by Julius Streicher, is now being displayed in show-cases throughout Vienna.
