Egypt and Israel signed a $2.5 billion natural gas deal. Under the 15-year deal signed June 30, Egypt will sell 25 billion cubic meters of gas to the Israel Electric Corporation starting in October 2006, with an option to extend the deal for five more years, Ha’aretz reported.
