Egyptian Sentenced to 15 Years Hard Labor for Murder of Philadelphia Jew in Cairo

The State Department received word today that on Egyptian named Bark Mirsil was sentenced this week to 15 years hard labor for the sander last July of Stephen Haas, a Philadelphia Jew.

Hass and his wife were tourists in Cairo when an angry mob attacked and killed Mr. Haas. Mrs. Baas escaped injury. State Department press officer Michael J. Mo-Dermott said today that he understood Mrs. Baas is thinking of filing a claim against the Egyptian Government. Two other persona on trial with Mirsil ware acquitted, Mo-Dermott said.
