Mustafa Nosrat Bey, Egyptian War Minister, said in Cairo today that Israel troop concentrations reported opposite Gaza, which the Egyptians hold, constituted “no danger to Egypt,” Reuters reported.
He described the reports, which estimated Jewish troop concentrations at 40,000, as “grossly exaggerated.” There were undoubtedly troops in that area, he said, “but they do not have the character which recent reports attributed to them.” The Egyptian Government and army were constantly on the alert and watching for any emergency, he added.
