Egypt’s president called Israel’s military operation in the West Bank “barbaric” and accused it of “state terrorism.” Israel’s operation “will only deepen the feelings of hatred, resentment, and the desire for revenge among not only the Palestinian people, but some 300 million Arabs,” Hosni Mubarak said Wednesday in a nationwide broadcast marking the 20th anniversary of the day the return of the Sinai peninsula was completed under the terms of the Camp David accords with Israel.
