Ehud Barak appeared before the commission looking into Israeli Arab rioting in northern Israel in October 2000. Appearing Tuesday before the Orr Commission panel, the former Israeli prime minister rejected claims that he ordered police to reopen major roads “by any means.” He also rejected allegations he had not prepared police properly for the possibility of rioting. During the rioting, 13 Israeli Arabs were killed by police.
