Ehud Olmert called on Arab states to make peace with Israel in conjunction with the Palestinians.

The time has come for you as well,” the Israeli prime minister said Tuesday in Annapolis, Md., where U.S.-convened Israeli-Palestinian talks are under way.

Addressing foreign ministers from some 20 Arab and Muslim states who had been invited to attend by President Bush, Olmert said, “You cannot continue to stand by indefinitely and watch the peace train go by. It is time to end the boycott and alienation towards the state of Israel.” Olmert said he “valued” the Arab League initiative of 2002, which called on Israel to return to 1967 borders in exchange for comprehensive peace, but he did not commit to it.
