In an editorial denouncing the seizure of the property of Albert Einstein by the Hitler government, the Los Angeles Times declares that the act is an open confession of weakness on the part of the regime.

“The action of the Nazi government in Germany in confiscating the property of Albert Einstein,” says the editorial, “is probably the most stupid blunder the Hitlerites have yet committed. It makes clear that the real objection to Einstein is not his asserted Communism, but his Hebraic ancestry, and that the Nazis are not honest enough and courageous enough to say so.”
