The Secretary of President Eisenhower’s Inaugural Committee today admitted he is a registered Arab agent but sought to minimize the role he takes as adviser to the Arabs.
He is Douglas Whitlook, a leading Washington attorney, whose appointments to the 1957 inaugural body was recently announced. Mr. Whitlock’s law firm is registered with the Justice Department ad advisers to the Arab Information Center. The Center disseminates propaganda for the Arab cause in the United States.
According to Mr. Whitlock, his employment is “strictly advisory.” He said he “in no wise” deals with any disputes between the Arabs and “The Zionists or other Israeli organizations.” His service, he said, was confined to guidance to the Arabs on legal administrative, and economic matters.
