The intention of the German government to eliminate Jews from the dental profession within three years was revealed last night at a meeting of 2,000 dentists convened by the Reichs Ministry of the Interior in conjunction with the Nazi party.

It was officially announced at the meeting that every dentist will have to undergo new state examinations without consideration of his period of practice. By this device, the Jews will be exposed to a policy of complete elimination from the profession. The reexamination of all practicing dentists will be completed by December, 1936.

An order issued in conjunction with the reexamination decree forbids dentists to appoint their own apprentice practitioners without the approval of the Nazi leader, Scheffer, who has been specially designated as a commissar for the profession. This order will prevent Jews from entering the profession, since they will not be able to serve the required period of interneship.

The dentists have now been united into a Reichsverband or national organization in which all dental associations have been joined. Since the Aryan clause prevails in the Reichsverband, the exclusion of Jews from membership in the professional societies is made possible.
