Assurances that the Polish government would take action to halt anti-Jewish excesses and punish the perpetrators were given today to Benjamin Winter, president of the Federation of Polish Jews in America, by Polish Consul-General Dr. Sylvester Gruszka speaking for the Charge d’Affaires of the Polish Embassy, L. Sokolowski.

In a conference at the consulate called by Polish officials after the Federation had protested anti-Jewish disturbances, Dr. Gruszka said the Federation’s letter had been forwarded to the Polish Government in Warsaw and that the government would not tolerate anti-Jewish excesses.
