A libel suit started by an English Jew against “John Bull”, London weekly, resulted in the withdrawal of the charge made by the paper and the paw## of 800 guineas to the Keren Hayesod.
The weekly recently published an article in which Abraham Kastelianski, a naturalized English Jew, who, during the war, acted in an advisory capacity to the British government was attacked.
“John Bull” attacked the Eastern Transport Insurance Company, from which Kastelianski resigned in 1921 and it accused him of commercial dishonesty. Following the filing of the suit, the editor of the weekly withdrew all charges unresevervedly and issued a statement that there was no ground for the imputations against Mr. Kastelianski. At the plaintiff’s suggestion, the editors have agreed to pay costs and the amount of 800 guineas to the Keren Hayesod.
