Another appeal to the League of Nations against the Hungarian government for its continued practice of the numerus clausus, not withstanding promises of its speedy abolition, may be directed on behalf of Anglo-Jewry, it was learned yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Board of Jewish Deputies.
Lucien Wolf, secretary of the Joint Foreign Committee, in reporting on the situation in Hungary, was instructed by the Board to inquire into the expediency of another appeal to the League. This action was taken in view of the recent statement of Count Klebelshurg. Hungarian Minister of Education, that there is no prospect for an early modification of the numerus clausus and that it is even possible that the scope of the numerus clausus law may be extended.
