Eritrean Governor Provides Money for Synagogue

The Governor of Eritrea, Italian province in North Africa which borders on Ethiopia, has assigned the sum of 150,000 liras for the building of a synagogue in Asmara. Asmara, principal city of the province, has a Jewish population of about 1,000. The synagogue is to be used also by the Jewish soldiers in the Italian army stationed in that city.
