Bernard Ettlinger today was elected president of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, succeeding E. J. Horwitz, who has resigned following his recent election to the chairmanship of the South African Zionist Federation.
Mr. Ettlinger, as prominent attorney, had been president of the Board of Deputies from 1943 to 1949, and is now vice-president of the Transvaal section of the Board. Mr. Horwitz remains a member of the Deputies’ executive as an honorary officer.
