Eugene O’Neill, the famous American playwright is called a Jew by the Nazi organ “Voelkischer Beobachter”, and accused of degrading the German theatre, through his play “Emperor Jones”, in an election appeal.

Charging that the Jews have degraded the German theatre, the paper lists “Emperor Jones” as an example of the work of a Jewish playwright. It also lists a number of other non-Jewish playwrights whom it calls Jews.

The whole harangue concludes with an appeal to vote for Hitler and his party.
