Support for Jewish youth and students and assistance to the small isolated European Jewish communities were adopted as top priorities by the European Council of Jewish Community Services which met here yesterday.

A $100,000 budget was voted to finance the Council’s activities for 1973-74. Specific responsibilities for the areas of fund-raising, youth leadership development and religious and cultural affairs, were assigned to the seven vice-presidents. An initial grant of $5300 was made to the European Association of Jewish Community Centers to continue the seminars it has been organizing to train youth leaders for the communities outside France and Great Britain. A special budget earmarked for a study of the needs of the smaller communities, with particular reference to Jewish instructional materials for young people, has been approved.
