Charges of murder were filed today against a former Nazi SS General charged with the mass murder of more than 2,000 Lithuanian and Ukrainian Jews during World War II.
The SS General was Erich Ehlinger who will be tried along with seven other SS men a of lesser rank. They served in dreaded SS “Einsatzkommando” (special command) which specialized in mass-killing of Jews in Nazi-occupied countries. Ehlinger, now 50 years of age, lived under a false name until apprehended in November, 1958.
