A German court at Marburg imposed a nine-month prison sentence upon Karl Zacharias, 48-year-old former storm trooper at Gladenbach, for having been the ringleader in numerous outrages inflicted upon Jewish residents in the early years of the Nazi regime.
For having canted on the work of the “League of Young Germans,” a prohibited neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic organization, 11 Germans were sentenced in West Berlin to terms ranging from nine months in prison to fines.
Berthold Exkert, whose record lists five criminal convictions, was given nine months. Two other defendants received six months each, while four were sent to jail for three months. Four fines of $70 each were imposed on the remaining four neo-Nazis in the dock.
