Two envelopes containing explosives were discovered this evening in the Israeli Embassy here. The envelopes were opened by French de-mining experts and did not explode. The two envelopes, one of which arrived with the mid-day mail and the other with the afternoon mail delivery, were addressed to two members of the Embassy They were marked “personal.” The Israeli Embassy refused to reveal the names of the two, citing “security measures.”
The two envelopes were considered suspicious by the Embassy’s security staff which at once called local police. Two French de-mining experts took the envelopes with them to the central explosives laboratory where it was discovered that they contained a quantity of explosives sufficient to blow up a room killing all those present.
