Extreme right-wing parties in Germany are joining forces in upcoming local elections. The move by the German Peoples Union and the National Democratic Party of Germany follows polls indicating that neither party is likely to reach 5 percent of the vote in September, the threshold needed to have parliamentary representatives in the states of Saxony and Brandenburg.
