Far-right French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen minimized the severity of Germany’s World War II occupation of France. “In France, at least, the German occupation was not particularly inhuman, even if there were a few blunders,” Le Pen told a small right-wing French newspaper, Rivarol. French Justice Minister Dominique Perben expressed outrage, as did CRIF, the main umbrella group of French Jewry.
