Fear that political events in Germany may overshadow the tragedy which exists in that country and cause people to forget the thousands doomed to disaster was expressed Friday in a radio talk over Station WBNX by Charles D. Jaffee, president of the Clothing Manufacturer’s Association. Mr. Jaffee is also vice-chairman of the Clothing Code Authority and chairman of the Clothing and Allied Industries Division of the United Jewish Appeal.
Although the Reich, he said, is in the grip of forces whose direction and ultimate fate it is difficult to foretell, one can with certainty predict the disaster that will overtake the victims of that regime, including those who have fled the land. The greatest victims, Mr. Jaffee said, have been the Jews whose careers have been shattered, and their means of livelihood removed. He urged aid for them through the United Jewish Appeal.
