Federation of Jewish Charities was organized here last Sunday. Jacob Reich was elected president and Nathan Marks, vice-president.
The federation will endeavor to have on hand at all times a fund of money to be used in emergency cases and to raise a certain sum of money to be sent to Jewish orphanages and philanthropic organizations outside the city.
The federation was organizedo at Temple Beth-El.
