Fepc Bill, Adopted by Minnesota Senate, Defeated in Lower House

A State fair employment practices bill which had been adopted by the State Senate with bi-partisan support, failed of passage in the Lower House as a result of opposition by legislators from the rural areas of the state. The measure had been supported by civic. Jewish and church groups but had been opposed by some trade groups and employers’ associations.
