Fire of undetermined origin, breaking out late last night, caused damage to the headquarters here of the Day-Jewish Journal, one of New York’s two Yiddish dailies. Damage was greatest in the section of the building housing the newspaper’s presses.
The management of the Day-Jewish Journal announced that publication was being continued without interruption. Type is being set in the newspaper’s own composing room, while the printing will be done temporarily on the presses of The Jewish Daily Forward.
