The first group of Iraqi Jews to be evacuated to Israel arrived here today by air aboard two giant skymasters. The Jews, numbering 170 men, women and children, stopped at Cyprus en route to Lydda. The aerial transfer of the Iraqi Jews to Israel–which must be completed within one year–has been dubbed “Operation All Baba.”

The Jewish Agency spent over $35,000,000 for maintenance of immigration transit camps, housing and abscription of immigrants in Israel during the six-month period between October, 1949, and March, 1950, it was announced today. Over 84,000 immigrant arrived in Israel during the same period.
