First Oil Boring Started in Israel by Canadian Company

Oil boring, the first to be started in Israel, was begun today in the Negev by the Continental Oil Company of Canada. Two directors of the company arrived to supervise the operation.

The ceremony was blessed by Chief Rabbi Dr. Herzog. “There should be no accidents in the work, no casualties among the workers and the boring should be successful.” the Chief Rabbi said.
