The first native Israeli woman to be ordained in Israel will receive smicha this week from the Reform movement.
Maya Leibowitz, 46, a second-generation Israeli, will be ordained as a rabbi Wednesday during a festive ceremony along with two other graduates of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Jerusalem.
