Label A. Katz of New Orleans, former international president of the B’nai B’rith, was elected president today of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture, at the organization’s annual meeting. Julian Freeman, of Indianapolis, was chosen chairman of the board.
At the meeting, the board considered means aimed at intensifying and expanding the development of an indigenous American Jewish culture. The Foundation has awarded more than 100 grants in various fields of Jewish scholarship; with a total of some $200,000.
