“For the first time,” said Mrs. Charles S. Guggenheimer, chairman of the stadium concerts, in announcing plans for the coming season, “New York will hear summer music of winter standard.”

The Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will present all of the greatest symphonies under the direction of Jose Iturbi, Eugene Ormandy, and William Van Hoog-straten. Special performances of the Beethoven Ninth Symphony and the Missa Solemnis, and Ernest Bloch’s Sacred Service will be given under the baton of Hugh Ross.
