Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami said Israel is not opposed to a U.S.-led international fact-finding commission into the unrest, but would like to see the violence reduced before the panel begins its work. Ben-Ami’s remarks clarified earlier reports that he had informed the U.S. national security adviser in a letter that Israel was withdrawing its agreement to cooperate with the commission.
