Former Israeli Knesset member Shulamit Aloni was awarded this year’s Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement. The panel of judges cited Aloni, a champion of civil rights, for her contribution to a “fair, just and moral Israeli society” throughout her career as a teacher, lawmaker and publicist.
