Former Likud Party prime ministers Yitzhak Shamir and Benjamin Netanyahu never agreed that a full withdrawal from the Golan Heights would be the basis for negotiations with Syria, Israeli opposition leaders said. Prime Minister Ehud Barak made the claim in his remarks to the Cabinet on Sunday, adding that former Labor prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres had also adopted this stance.
