Former Lithuanian Jew Receives 1971 Albert Schweitzer Award

Prof. Emanuel Levinas, a former Lithuanian Jew, was named the recipient of the 1971 Albert Schweitzer Prize which was presented to him by Queen Juliana of The Netherlands today. Dr. Levinas, a professor of philosophy at the University of Nantorre, was educated at the Hebrew high school in Kovno. Lithuania and at the Sorbonne in Paris.
