A group of French Parliamentary Deputies from all political parties. Government and opposition alike, today pledged their support to Israel’s efforts to achieve some form of association with the European Economic Community. The legislators expressed their views favoring an Israeli link with the EEC at a luncheon given by Raymond Schmittelin, head of President de Gaulle’s UNR parliamentary group, in honor of Israel Ambassador Walter Eytan. Some 30 members of the French National Assembly attended the luncheon.
The Deputies also discussed with the Israeli envoy the possibilities for further increasing economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
