Frieda Hennock, 55, only woman ever to serve on the Federal Communications Commission, died here today.

A brilliant New York attorney of Jewish faith, she was appointed to the commission by President Truman.

She led the fight for educational television. A supporter of Israel and Jewish causes, she is survived by William H. Simons, her husband.
