Friends, Associates of Sholem Asch Pay Tribute on Tenth Anniversary of His Death

A memorial meeting in honor of Sholem Asch, the noted Yiddish writer who died here 10 years ago, was held here last night under the joint auspices of the cultural department of the World Jewish Congress and the Association of Jewish Writers and Journalists in England. Samuel J. Goldsmith, European editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, presided and delivered a lecture on the author’s works.

Other speakers included Joseph Leftwich, a personal friend of the late Mr. Asch and the translator of his books into English; Michael Zylberberg, who represented the Yivo Institute for Jewish Research, and Joel Cang, editor and journalist.
