Funeral services were held today for Rabbi David Liebowitz, founder and dean of the Rabbinical Seminary of America in Brooklyn, who died Friday at the age of 54. Rabbi Liebowitz was a Talmudic prodigy when a student in Kaunas. After coming to this country he served a Bronx congregation before accepting a professorship in the Mesifta Torah Vodaath Seminary in Brooklyn. He was a member of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada.
