General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Army Chief of Staff, today presented a special citation to B’nai B’rith’s National War Service Committee for “outstanding accomplishments” for the morals and welfare of army personnel.
In a ceremony in his office at the Pentagon building, General Eisenhower presented the citation, which was awarded by the War Department, to Henry Monsky, president of B’nai B’rith and to the national executive committee, which is holding its annual meeting in Washington.
The citation, signed by Secretary of War Robert Patterson and Major General Joseph W. Byron, director of the Special Services Division, read: “The War Department expresses its appreciation for patriotic services to B’nai B’rith in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in behalf of army personnel and of meritorious contributions to its welfare and morale.”
