A former U.S. Deputy Chief of Staff, later Ambassador to France, and a group of top American and Israeli businessmen and academicians recently concluded a three-day seminar on management problems and how they applied to Israel’s industrial development. In addition to Lt. Gen. James M. Gavin, now the head of an American management consultancy firm, the group included Meshulam Riklis, a former Israeli who built up a business empire in the U.S.; Dr. Victor Dix of Ohio; Prof. Joseph E. Fishelson, a visiting professor of business administration at the Hebrew University, and 20 Israelis from top management and university faculties. They examined Israel Government policies on industrial development, taxation and the promotion of science-based industries and evaluated the effects of these policies on corporate growth.
