George Z. Medalie Raised to New York Court of Appeals by Gov. Dewey

Gov. Thomas B. Dewey today named George Z. Medalie, New York attorney and a leader in Jewish philanthropic and communal affairs, to the Court of Appeals.

Mr. Medalie will succeed Judge John T. Loughran, who was appointed chief judge to fill the post left vacant by the death last week of Chief Judge Irving Lebman.
