The legal situation of German and Austrian Jews here is still in a confused state with requests for certification as a “stateless” person being denied by Argentine courts which claim that the Jews have no reason to renounce German citizenship since the Nazis are no longer in power.
However, as Germans or Austrians they are subject to legal discrimination unless they can prove that they were “non Nazis,” and the fact that they are Jews is not considered prima facie proof of their anti-Nazi sympathies.
