Court action for libel may be started against several German anti-Semitic newspapers in behalf of Dr. Stephen S. Wise, of the United and Free Synagogue of New York.
The Anti-Semitic paper, the NEUE NIEDER SCHLESISCHE ZEITUNG has printed what was alleged to be a part of an address delivered by Dr. Stephen S. Vise in which he was quoted as having expressed himself in insulting terms of Jesus and the Madonna.
Dr. Wise has requested Prof. Elboger of the Berlin Hochschule to demand from the newspapers adenial of their false statements and make ample apology. Should they refuse to do so, Dr. Wise will start libel suit against them.
