German Book Claims Only 1,277,000 Jews Killed by Nazis

They claim that only 1,277,212 Jews were killed by the Nazi is advanced in a new book by a Peter Kleist published here today. The generally accepted figure of Jews murdered by the Nazi regime is 6,000,000.

Kleist states that there were 1,300,000 Jews living in that portion of Poland occupied by the Soviet Army after 1939 and that when the Nazis invaded this territory, about 1,000,000 of them escaped into the interior of the USSR. He also asserts that the Nazis killed only 90,000 Jews inside Russia proper.
