German Court Rejects Appeal of Schroeder

The appeal of Schroeder, sentenced to death for the murder of the bookkeeper Helling, was rejected by the Federal Court.

The Jewish merchant of Magdeburg, Rudolph Haas, was accused of the murder of Helling who was his bookkeeper. The case created a considerable stir. being termed the German Dreyfus affair. Haas was vindicated when it was proved that the charges against him were false.
