German Courts Imprison Nazis for Killing, Mistreating Jews Under Hitler Regime

Three former Nazi party members were today sentenced to prison terms for the murder of Max Kassel, a Jew, in 1933. Ernst Franzeb, chief defendant, received a life sentence, while co-defendants Johann Haas and Ernst Kraus each received nine-year terms. in the city of Kassel five former storm troopers received prison sentences for mistreating Jews in that city during the night of Nov. 9-10, 1938, following the assassination in Paris of a Nazi diplomat by a Jew. The Germen court which tried the five meted out sentences ranging from seven months to four years.
