The powerful Federation of German Industries — the German equivalent of a national association of manufacturers — has demanded that Israel return to former German owners trade marks which were confiscated by the Israeli Government in 1950.
In a memorandum to the German Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee and to the major German political parties, the Federation insisted that return of the German trademarks in Israel is “absolutely indispensable” for large-scale delivery of German goods under the reparations treaty with Israel. The memorandum also demanded provisions for the protection of future German designs and commercial symbols in Israel.
