A new anti-Semitic drive, designed further to purge the economy of Nazi Germany of its Jewish elements, appeared underway today. Das Schwarze Korps, organ of the Nazi black-shirt legions, demanded radical measures be taken to eliminate Jews from all branches of Reich economy. The paper also called for rigorous laws to exclude Jewish cattle-dealers from all German markets.
The demand for new anti-Semitic action followed closely on the heels of the measure preventing some 3,000 Jewish doctors from participating in the panel of physicians giving service under the compulsory insurance law. Of these, 800 are in Berlin.
An Attack against Jewish participation in economic life appeared in the first 1938 number of the Nazi organ “German Economy,” which was published here. The review listed the following measures which it said should be enacted to eliminate Jewish economic activity.
1– Foundation of new Jewish business enterprises should be forbidden.
2– Jews should be prevented from profiting by improvements in the economic situation
3– German businesses should be strengthened in order to facilitate the passing of Jewish enterprises into German hands.
4– Jewish participation in the process of transferring Jewish enterprises from Jewish to German hands should be eliminated.
