German Prosecutor Opens Probe into Nazi War Crimes in Foreign Lands

State Attorney Karl H. Pottgieser announced he has launched an investigation into Nazi crimes in foreign countries, concentrating on cases in which one or more suspects reside in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. At the same time, a government coordinating bureau has been set up in Cologne to probe into war crimes committed in concentration camps conducted by the Nazi regime.
